Client: Hazelview Properties
Project: The Story of Midtown
Scope: Interior Design, Art Consultation
The Story of Midtown is designed for a wide range of residents—people who want to live in the area without the commitment of ownership. Some are renting for the first time, others are downsizing, or returning to the neighbourhood in a new chapter of life.
From the beginning, our client, Hazelview Properties, came to us with a clear goal: create something lasting, useful, and grounded. Not a lifestyle concept. Not a marketing exercise. Just thoughtful, everyday design that would serve real people over time.
The challenge was designing for change—residents will come and go, but the building still needs to feel intuitive, generous, and steady. We focused on what supports that: layouts that feel clear and comfortable, materials that wear well, and shared spaces that give people privacy, autonomy, and a sense of ease.
The building is Canada’s first Rainbow Registered residential rental, which added an extra layer of responsibility to make sure inclusion was not just visual, but embedded in how the space works.
The Story of Midtown sits beside 75 Broadway—its sister project. Together, they create a small but intentional cluster of homes that reflect how people actually live today—and how they’ll continue to live tomorrow.
