Project: The St. Regis Hotel, Ballroom Renovation
The ballroom renovation at the St. Regis Toronto was about precision. The spaces were dated, but heavily used—for weddings, conferences, social gatherings—and the client didn’t want to start from scratch. The goal was to update the ballrooms and pre-function spaces to reflect a more current understanding of luxury, without losing the identity or functionality that made them successful.
Working closely with InnVest Hotels and the St. Regis team, we focused on high-impact, minimal interventions. We preserved the existing structure wherever possible, reworked the flow of movement, and made targeted material upgrades to enhance the guest experience. The most significant design decisions weren’t decorative—they were spatial and operational.
We reimagined lighting, redesigned key seating areas, adjusted transitions, and made sure the rooms could scale up or down depending on the event. A new custom lighting installation and art backdrops became subtle focal points—memorable, but never overpowering.
This project wasn’t about reinvention. It was about clarity. In a market that often favours spectacle, the St. Regis ballrooms were designed to do something quieter: support the people and moments that bring the space to life.
