An 8000-square foot home for a young family takes cues from the mature trees and flowing ravine from the property on which the house is situated. The interior design is an extension of the surrounding environment creating an integrated balance between the interior and exterior landscape. The lower level is a space of hobby; a wine making and tasting room overlooks a gallery-like garage and connects to the family's media room. The ground floor is a place of gathering; a space for the children, parents and grandparents to congregate in the multi-generational household. The upper level is a place of quiet and sanctuary; a 17-foot diameter skylight fills the library which leads to the family's private bedrooms and study spaces.
